Ruth

Teacher

Ruth was raised in Vancouver and attended VMS as a child. She always knew she wanted to work with children in a Montessori environment.  After receiving her Bachelors in Social Sciences from WSU, she continued on to earn her AMI Primary training from Montessori Northwest in 2019. She has a toddler son and two kitties. When they’re not playing in the backyard, they can be found hiking, camping, or at the beach!

Rianne

Assistant Teacher

Before joining Vancouver Montessori School, Rianne spent five years as a CNA supporting children with autism. She also worked as a private nanny and volunteered with Portland Public Schools for their after-school healthy eating program. These experiences shaped her passion for helping children feel welcomed, respected, and valued as the foundation for learning and growth. Outside of work, Rianne loves to explore local parks and museums with her preschool son.

Emily

Teacher

Emily joins us from a small coastal Montessori preschool where she was introduced  to the philosophies and methods of Maria Montessori while completing the AMI 3-6 Montessori Orientation. She loves how aligned culture is with her own values and understanding of behavior and learning.

Emily has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, has worked in early childhood education, as an ABA therapist, and has been a professional portrait photographer for over 20 years. She loves working with children and connects with them easily. She is excited to be in the classroom again and part of our Montessori community.

When she’s away from the classroom you’d most likely find Emily gardening, hiking with her boyfriend and pup, or escaping to the beach to collect rocks.
