Lavender Classroom

Grace has been working with children ages birth to 6 since 2004. She has known since her early years in 2nd grade that she wanted to be a teacher. It wasn’t until she got her first assistant position in a Montessori classroom in 2005 that she learned about Montessori, but she’s been a believer since!  She received her Primary level AMS certification in 2016 from Seton Montessori Institute in Illinois.  She has two wonderful Montessori children, a daughter and son. They enjoy camping, playing games, and spending time with their extended family.

This is Amanda’s first year with VMS, where she is the assistant in the Lavender Classroom. She was born and raised here in Vancouver, and went to college in Bellingham at Western Washington University. During college, she caught the travel bug and decided to teach English in South Korea and Shanghai – she ended up traveling over Asia for a couple of years. Now, she is happy to be settled back in Vancouver and be closer to my family and friends. During her free time she loves hiking, cooking/baking, finding new places to eat, and doing DIYs for her house.
