Vancouver Montessori Celebrates Earth Day

On Saturday, April 18th, our team of Vancouver Montessori School staff and alumni volunteers were privileged to participate in the 16th annual Earth Day EcoFair. Clark PUD’s Stream Team has coordinated this event since it’s beginning. This year it was held on the Salmon Creek Greenway near Klineline Pond. More than 1,000 volunteers helped shore up the stream banks with planting as well as pull non-native, invasive plant species.

Many exhibitors, with fun, interactive displays made this a great family event. At our VMS tent, children and families could choose from a variety of fun and educational crafts and activities. Things like rock painting, nature mobile making, egg carton bug design, seed planting, worm and root viewing, trash vs. recycling sorting and much more. Face painting and guitar music were two of the favorites!
What a way to spend a sunny Saturday in honor of our Earth!
